About Me

I hail from Russell, a small town in eastern Kentucky (not to be confused with Russell County, Russellville, or Russell Springs). My mom raised me on classic movie musicals and made seeing live theatre a regular pastime. Once I reached eleven, I'd had enough of dancing "Doll on a Music Box" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the living room ottoman, so I auditioned for my first show, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I played a church kid. I was not good.

I got better (thankfully) and went to study musical theatre at Western Kentucky University, where I joined the campus improv troupe and fell head over heels for improv (yes, and making people laugh in general). I graduated in 2021 and have spent the years since going wherever theatre takes me. I'm up to having performed or taught in sixteen states, including Alaska, where the spruce and moose inspired me to put my English minor to work and start writing creative nonfiction!

I have a 22-year-old cat whom I've had since I was two. Her name is Katie!

A Bit More About Me...

I consider myself an amateur musical theatre historian, which I turned into my senior capstone piece, Cut Song Cabaret!

I've had to get chin stitches twice, the second occurrence being known as "The Chincident." The scars run together to look like a "y."
